Baked Spaghetti Casserole
4-6 slices bacon
1/2 pound ground beef
1 (28 ounce) can Italian tomatoes with juice
1/4 cup diced onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup catsup
3 ounces cream cheese
3 ounce can sliced mushrooms
1/2 pound spaghetti
1/4 pound sharp Cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Fry the bacon until fairly crisp and set aside.
In the same pan, brown the ground beef.
In another large pan, mix the tomatoes with their juice, and the seasonings.
Break the cream cheese into chunks, and add it to the tomato sauce, stirring well.
Meanwhile, boil spaghetti according to package directions and drain.
Mix the beef and tomato sauce together.
Pour sauce over dained spaghetti, mixing well.
Put the mixture into a shallow casserole and top with slices of Cheddar cheese to cover.
Bake until hot, about 30 minutes.
Add the strips of bacon over the top for the last 10 minutes or so of baking.
