TOUGH TIME TAILGATING IN THE SWAMP-TENNESSEE FLORIDA GAME

I don’t know where ESPN’s Game Day will be this Saturday, (actually I do, North Dakota State vs. Delaware State)  but I know where I will be.

POP’S PLACE for some serious tailgating.

This is always the toughest game for me.  My Tennessee heart and my Gator allegiances always conflict.

I will have my Pre game face on; enjoying all my Gator family and friends

I will be wearing my Tennessee button, my Gator Mom button,  my Beat Everybody (Except Tennessee) button, and an Orange and White Beat Florida button.

Friday night we will  celebrate at The Swamp Restaurant, meeting Gator and Tennessee fans ready for game day.

Might enjoy the music from the rowdy tailgate behind Pops Place.

All this fun before the House Divided comes undone.

If the Gators win, please don’t ask me if I was “really in my heart” rooting for Tennessee.  As before, I will reply, I grew up in Knoxville. I went to the University of Tennessee.  I graduated from the University of Tennessee.  Yes, I was rooting for Tennessee.

If Tennessee happens to win, I will be grinning from ear to ear, yet trying to be gracious.  Pops my Gator father-in-law is always the first to congratulate me after a Tennessee victory. (Hasn’t happened very often lately, but the day is coming.)

Forrest Gump’s infamous quote, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get”.

Who would have guessed these 4 kids would become Gators with these Tennessee parents.

I will have an update next week.  Just give me time to recover.

Watch for upcoming stories from my tailgating travels.  I welcome your comments, recipes and any inside information on your favorite tailgating spots.

Come celebrate with me.  I’ll save you a seat at the table.
