We love heading to Vermont in September. The leaves on the trees were just barely turning, but Vermonters were all ready for fall and Halloween.
We traveled to Dorset, Vermont, nestled in the Green Mountains of Vermont, staying with family, Jane and Ken. Dorset is a charming town known for its “Historic Green”, with white clapboard houses, and sidewalks made of locally quarried marble. The surrounding countryside includes picturesque Dorset Hollow, quaint farms, barns and flower gardens.

“The Green” in Dorset

The barns are spectacular.

This barn is en route to one of my favorite hikes, Haystack Mountain. I love to take photos of barns and couldn’t resist this one.

After posting this photo on my The Green Mountains of Vermont story, local Vermont artist, Peter Huntoon asked for the location. And Voila…

His wonderful interpretation…Waite Hill Farm..love the lights and darks and the shadow play!

With Halloween fast approaching here are some of the fabulous spooks at the Equinox Valley Nursery’s pumpkin patch. Always a treat to see how they set up every year.
Hope these photos give you some ideas for decorating your yard.

Frankenstein, Dracula and Wolfman

Ghostly Dancing…loved how they used lampshades as heads!

Now a few Halloween ghosts from Florida.

Happy Halloween from our house to yours!
Come celebrate with me. I’ll save you a seat at the table.

So sweet you were in Dorset for your honeymoon! Such a great place😘🎃
The Equinox Valley Nursery is remarkable and a must see particularly their Fall and Halloween displays. We love local artist Peter Huntoon. One of his beautiful originals hangs in our bedroom.
