For the past few months, I have been working on a new painting series. I’m happy to show it to you now, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
I wanted to continue painting flowers, but have also become intrigued with several artists who enjoy painting interiors. As most of you know, I love decorating and anything to do with interior design. Our homes are so important to us, especially since we’ve been spending so much more time in the home. Personalizing one’s home is a talent and art work makes all the difference when putting your imprint in the home. It is fun to collect paintings from your favorite artist!
This new series features flowers and also several interiors but even the interior paintings include a flower arrangement.
The smaller sizes work so well on a table, a shelf or as a gallery grouping.
Hope you enjoy! For questions or to purchase a painting email me at kathy@kathymillertime.com or click on Art Gallery above.
I also have been painting in oil on linen panels. This has been so much fun and the 6″ x 8″ size keeps the paintings in a good price range.
LUNCH IN PROVENCE
6″x 8″ oil on Italian linen panel
This was inspired by a photo of the La Colombe D’Or restaurant in St. Paul de Vence, France. Sandra Sallin writes a delightful blog, Apart from my Art, and this photo is from her post…“Lights! Camera!Picasso!…and Me.” She writes, “Painters in the region, who would later become famous, paid for their meals by giving their artwork to the owners.”

Hope you enjoyed the new interiors. Coming tomorrow, my new flower paintings!
Flowers and romance seem to go together.
Many flower quotes by William Shakespeare appear throughout his works.
“What’s in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.”
spoken by Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet” (2.2.45-7)

Kathy,
Fun to see your energetic expansion of topic and technique.
Oil on linen seems an exciting new Avenue.
Congrats!

Thanks Susan! I have really enjoyed trying my hand at alla prima painting and after trying the technique with acrylics I just felt I needed to
use oil since they don’t dry as fast. Hope all is well with you.
